Carolyn began her art career designing rugs and other decorative objects for interior designers and architects.  After co-owning a decorative art business for twelve years, her work is now featured in commercial settings and private residences all over the world.

In l996, Carolyn returned to school at the University of Dallas to work in the MFA program.  In addition, she has also studied in Toulouse, France and at SMU in Dallas and Taos, New Mexico.  Over the years, Carolyn has lived in Italy, France, England, and Morocco and has visited many other countries.  All have become a part of her vocabulary, especially the flora and fauna of Costa Rica and Mexico where she finds the most inspiration.

Currently, Carolyn is working on a series of paintings entitled “The Generosity of Water”.  The works focus on spiritual transformation as perceived in the rhythms of nature and the human body by juxtaposing organic forms with images of their wellspring, examining the source given and the potentiality found.

Carolyn also participates in the “daily painting” exercise and posts these small paintings on her blog.
